YUKON, Okla. – A Yukon father was sentenced to life in prison this week after being convicted of sexually abusing a 3-year-old relative.

It has been a year-and-a-half since the graphic details were released; now his ex-wife is speaking out about the crime.

“I feel like justice was served for my family, I’m very happy,” said Kelly Christensen.

On July 26, 2013, the ugly truth was revealed about her husband at the time, Stephen Christensen.

“This man took pictures of this 3-year-old victim and put them on the Internet as he was sexually abusing her,” said Lt. Adam Flowers, with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office.

State investigators say they received a cyber-tip from Google, reporting the inappropriate pictures.

Flowers, and the rest of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, linked the images to computers used by Stephen Christensen.

“You really beat yourself up. Why you didn’t see what was going on?” said Kelly.

“It was a long time coming. This man was an evil man and he needs to be locked up for the rest of his life,” said Flowers. “These predators will be stopped and they’re going to have to answer for what they’ve done.”

Stephen Christensen recently learned that he would spend the rest of his life behind bars.

“A complete weight has lifted, I feel like a different person today. That chapter is over, we’re not tied to that anymore. We can just move on,” she said.

Kelly says she is busy raising the couple’s three children and bringing their lives back to normal.

“They’re okay. I always tell them we’re still a family, a family of four now, but we’re still strong, we’re still together. It’s not ever going to change,” she said.
